The public is cordially invited to the following events in Church Point on Saturday, October 18, as part of Le Grand Réveil Acadien in south Louisiana. 9am. to 2pm. – Artisans’ Market – Le Vieux Dépôt –Main St. at Rue Iry Lejeune. An open-air market proudly showing off the talent of our local people, focusing on handmade locally grown or sourced items showcasing our culture. 10am. to 3pm – Open House - Le Vieux Presbytère Museum –205 Rue Iry Lejeune. 10am - French Speaking on the Porch. At the same location. Both beginners and native speakers welcomed. Other events include free tours of the museum, live music by “Cajun Fire”, and food, and drink, at the same location. 4 p.m. – The Mass in French – Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church – Church Blvd. at Bienvenu St. While you’re in town, please visit our other fine establishments, including the Cajun’s Event Center, 9210 Church Point Highway, which offers live music and dancing Saturday night.
